This Hybrid SH-AWD concept is a preview of the RL’s upcoming replacement.  While the current RL has languished through its twilight years with the corporate guillotine nose, Acura hopes to reinvigorate its premium large sedan for the next generation with the RLX.

The front end has been rounded out significantly, and the large Acura blade now sits flush with grill work added beneath, appearing shield like on first read.  The over-sized LED headlight bulbs,”jewel eye™” in Acura speak, give a unique, moderately insectoid, look under the more conventional headlight glass.

The rear eschews the upright C pillar of the current RL for a broad slope bisected by the shoulder line, reminiscent of the previous generation Lexus GS.  The body side is more sculpted than the outgoing car with a large fender contour dipping down at the A pillar to create a feature line running through the doors.
