It has been quite a while since I last drove a Toyota Camry, and I mist say, it has grown up a lot, very reminiscent of the Lexus interiors of some years ago. I love the sense to quality it exudes. On the exterior I am still not a big fan of all of these huge open mouth tordated graphics that seems to be prevalent these days. It seems to want to scream out to look at it, when it is in fact quite ungainly. A bit of a contrast. I would rather see the more subtle graphics used carefully by Kia which by now stand out in association with quality, sportiness and value for money.

The Camry comes in several versions, where the roof treatment could stand out in some of them, with the darkened effect making it obviously different from the rest, enhancing the different proportions of the car. This was not one of those. The exterior color was extremely nice. A very deep Maroon that was clearly cooler in color than most currently on the market, so it enhanced the depth and coolness of the color. In my opinion it looks more expensive than the more orange toned maroons.  Though there clearly are quite a lot of lines and surface changes on the Camry exterior, it is actually nicely done and more in balance than most recent Toyota and Lexus products. Lines have a direction, a beginning and end, and the surface changes seem logical with them.

Once inside the interior offers ample space for 5, although I do prefer a maximum of 4 if needed, since I hate putting anyone in that rear middle area. It is a sumptuous feeling, plenty of padding, as said good quality in fit and finish, although I must say that packaging wise I do think the Kia Optima and Hyundai Sonata do seem to offer more interior space. It is enough in the Camry, but the other two come across as amazingly spacious. Driver position is good, the thickness of the steering wheel rim also conveys the right message, and the general feel when driving the Camry is, as said, almost Lexus like, so I am glad to see that flow down market as it should.
